Payment security and recurring payments

Payment security and recurring payments

Learn how card details, authentication and future payments are handled. Please also read the guide for your chosen payment method.

01

Your full card number is not stored in our billing system #

When you register a card through Stripe, we use a payment identifier, called a token, returned by the payment provider. Our billing system is configured to retain the last four digits for identification and the payment identifier, without storing the full card number.

You do not need to send your full card number or card security code by email or support ticket. Enter or update card details through the payment screen in the client portal.

02

3D Secure authentication is supported #

Stripe card payments support 3D Secure. If authentication is requested, follow your card issuer's instructions.

Whether an authentication screen appears depends on the card issuer's decision and the transaction. The absence of a challenge screen does not necessarily mean authentication support is disabled.

03

Future payments depend on your payment method #

A registered Stripe card or PayPal automatic payment arrangement may be used for recurring payments, depending on your service, invoices and registration settings. Square payments are made separately for each invoice. See the relevant payment guide for the steps.

If a payment is pending or fails, check the invoice status and any message from the payment provider. Avoid repeating the payment while its status is unclear.

04

Check both service cancellation and automatic payment settings #

Removing a card or disabling automatic charging does not cancel your service. To end a service, follow the cancellation guide.

Payments may still be collected while a cancellation request is pending, depending on outstanding invoices and other circumstances. Check the service status and automatic charging settings. If you use PayPal, also review your automatic payments in PayPal.
